Darkglass Electronics MTINF Overview

Enjoy an infinite array of tonal possibilities for your bass guitar with the Microtubes Infinity from Darkglass Electronics, a versatile preamp, distortion, and audio interface pedal. Sporting three Microtubes distortions (B3K, Vintage, and X), five preamp modes, and five cab emulations, Microtubes Infinity lets you explore the full range of your bass's sonic potential.

Microtubes Infinity features multiband compression, applicable on every mode, and with a dedicated footswitch. Preamp modes include a tube preamp emulation on mode 1. Touch-sensitive sliders provide easy control of the pedal's active 6-band EQ, letting you easily shape your tone with precision. The Tone·Era pot allows you to shift from dull to crisp and almost anything between, and on Vintage Microtubes modes (modes 2 and 4), you can use the signature ERA control for access to decades of classic bass tones. And with versatile I/O, you can connect to studio monitors via balanced 1/4" TRS, MIDI devices, aux inputs, headphones, mixers, and desktop computers via USB for audio interface duties, updates, MIDI, and IR downloads.

Infinite Possibilities
The ultimate Microtubes Pedal, Microtubes Infinity sports a range of features capable of recreating Microtubes, Microtubes X, and Vintage Microtubes tones, all of which can be saved to presets for quick recall. It allows multiband compression on every mode and blending impulse responses between distortions for a near infinite range of tonal possibilities.
Compressor
This control allows setting the input gain of the compressor that will translate into how much the signal is compressed, while the intelligent make-up gain algorithm keeps the output of the compressor at usable levels. The compressor has 5 ratios available:

  • 4:1
  • 8:1
  • 12:1
  • 20:1
  • ALL IN
Darkglass Suite
Utilizing the desktop or mobile version of the Darkglass Suite allows you to customize the settings of each preset to your liking. The signal chain options are available with the embedded noise gate and use of the available impulse responses from the Darkglass library or your own custom third party impulses in available slots.

Custom routing options and MIDI mapping to control the extra preset slots with program change commands and control change commands for each output are available for the specific available controls of your choice. The Microtubes Infinity also supports Bluetooth streaming connections.

Cabinet Simulation
The Microtubes Infinity supports impulse response (IR) cabinet simulations and has 5 cabinet slots onboard. The default IRs have been selected by the Darkglass Team. New IRs can be assigned to the 5 slots using the Darkglass Suite (desktop or mobile).
Quality Headphone Amplifier
The headphone output can handle headphones with an impedance of 16 to 600 ohms. Connect your headphones to the 3.5mm stereo jack, and set the desired level from the dedicated potentiometer next to the jack.
EQ Control
  • Bass shelving slider with ±12 dB
  • Mid sliders with ±12 dB at 250 and 500 Hz, and 1.5 and 3 kHz
  • High shelving slider with ±12 dB at 5 kHz
