Product Overview
LTŸ1121-5 is micropower low dropout regulator with shutdown. It is designed for use in battery-powered systems. Its quiescent current is well-controlled, it does not rise in dropout as it does with many other low dropout PNP regulators. It include the ability to operate with very small output capacitors. This is stable with only 0.33”F on the output while most older devices require between 1”F and 100”F for stability. Its small ceramic capacitors can be used, enhancing manufacturability. Also the input may be connected to ground or a reverse voltage without reverse current flow from output to input. This makes the LT1121 series ideal for backup power situations where the output is held high and the input is at ground or reversed. Under these conditions only 16”A will flow from the output pin to ground. Applications are low current regulator, regulator for battery-powered systems, post regulator for switching supplies.
- 0.45V (load = 100mA, TJ = 25ÂșC) dropout voltage
- 150nA adjust pin bias current (TJ = 25ÂșC)
- 22”A quiescent current in shutdown (VIN = 6V, VSHDN = 0V)
- No protection diodes needed
- 5V fixed output voltage
- No reverse current with input low
- Thermal limiting
- 8-lead plastic SO package
- 0°C to 125°C temperature range
- 8-lead plastic SO narrow package
