Product Overview

AD8421 is a low power instrumentation amplifier. It is ideally suited for a broad spectrum of signal conditioning and data acquisition applications. It features extremely high CMRR, allowing it to extract low level signals in the presence of high frequency common-mode noise over a wide temperature range. The device employs innovative process technology and design techniques to provide noise performance that is limited only by the sensor. The device uses unique protection methods to ensure robust inputs while still maintaining very low noise. A single resistor sets the gain from 1 to 10,000. The reference pin can be used to apply a precise offset to the output voltage. It is widely used in application such as medical instrumentation, precision data acquisition, microphone preamplification, vibration analysis, multiplexed input applications, ADC driver etc.

  • Supply current is 2.3mA max, slew rate is 35V/µs
  • Input voltage noise is 3.2nV/?Hz max at 1kHz, current noise is 200fA/?Hz at 1kHz
  • Small signal bandwidth is 10MHz at (G = 1), 2MHz bandwidth at (G = 100)
  • Settling time to 0.001% is 0.4µs (G = 10), CMRR is 94dB at 20kHz (G = 1)
