Module 8 L3 Tuner Variable Look Lens Attachment (EF-Mount Lens to RF-Mount Camera)

Have you ever wanted your dramatically lit film to have an anamorphic depth of field, but you are using a spherical lens on a mirrorless digital camera? The L3 Tuner Variable Look Lens Attachment from Module 8 was designed just for that. The L3 Tuner was created to mount your EF-mount lens onto your RF-mount camera to provide the characteristics of a classic anamorphic cinema lens. Thanks to a clever design, you no longer have to settle for permanent (and possibly damaging) detuning since this adapter allows you to adjust your look on the spot.

The Tuner provides standard EF-mount lenses and mirrorless digital cameras to emulate the look of vintage glass, so you don't have to track down a classic cinema lens. It makes your lens capture the look of a classic lens and provides manual control over the strength of the look without refocusing, reshimming, or changing the lens.

The Tuner features Module 8 VariTune technology, which allows you to avoid actual detuning of your lens. Detuning takes a long time to experiment with different looks, only supports high-end PL mount lenses, and doesn't support autofocus lenses. When using the Tuner with your own lens, VariTune technology allows you to set up the look you want in minutes, supports EF and PL mounts, allows you to tune an unlimited number of looks, and supports autofocus.

The Tuner adapter is constructed with optical glass and an aluminum casing for durability. It features a standard 0.8 MOD cine gear, a 70° adjustment dial range, and a 1/4"-20 support bracket thread. You can also update the Tuner's firmware using the integrated USB port.

Inspired by lenses designed by lens designer Iain Neil, the L3 Tuner creates a unique depth of field with characteristics of a classic anamorphic lens, even when using your own spherical lens. It features a retroscope look with strong astigmatism at the edges and works over a wide aperture range. The VariTune technology allows you to maintain focus while adjusting the look strength.

The L3 Tuner is currently only compatible with Canon, Tamron, and Sigma lenses, including pro EF Cine lenses.
