The 1278.1004 is a 4-fold Horizontal Bargraph Display Light Guide with black UL94 PC diaphragm. A screen is integrated to prevent irradiation to the adjacent displays, so that also mixed colours can be used. The light guide is held in place on the printed board via press-in lugs. The light guide is used in conjunction with SMD LEDs of type Mini TOPLED. The light guide system is suitable for bargraph displays of minimum 4 displays. The heads of conventional front-mounted light guides will always be slightly larger than the aperture they are mounted in. The result is that not all of the head is directly illuminated by the LED. The advantage of mounting from the rear of the panel is that all of the light guide head is directly illuminated, producing a visibly superior lighting effect. Mechanical fixing is achieved via the radial compression of slightly over-sized rings moulded into the light guide body.
