Cranborne Audio N22H Headphone Amplifier and C.A.S.T. Breakout Box combines the company's C.A.S.T. cable management system with a reference-grade, high-power headphone amplifier for use with a wide range of headphones and earphones during tracking, mixing, and mastering. It provides analog-snake solutions for unique and complex routing with plug-and-play simplicity, packed in a rugged steel enclosure.

N22H can be deployed exactly where it is needed, allowing you to put the headphone mix right beside the musician, while also providing you with stagebox connectivity for two microphones or other audio sources during tracking (requires N22 Cat 5 snake and C.A.S.T. breakout box and a Cat 5e, 6, or 7 cableall available separately).

N22H can also be used as a standalone headphone amp. Simply connect the line outputs of your audio interface, guitar pedalboard, mixer, keyboard, or outboard hardware directly into N22H's inputs, set the Source switch on N22H to Inputs, and you are ready to use N22H for all of your headphone-monitoring needs. N22H is also designed to work with any other C.A.S.T. enabled device like the 500R8, 500ADAT, or Camden EC2.

Reference-Quality Headphone Amplifier for Tacking, Mixing, Mastering
  • N22H's headphone amplifier is based on the same custom design found in the company's renowned 500R8 interface.
  • With a flat frequency response ranging from 0.8 Hz to above 250 kHz and ultralow distortion (0.0009% THD+N, 100 Kilohm load), it can easily power headphones with clean, transparent powerperfect for critical listening, mixing, and mastering.
  • Theres also enough power (up to 950mW per ear) to drive headphones at high-volumes during trackingperfect for loud drummers.
  • With carefully calibrated High- and Low-Power Modes, N22H can be quickly optimized for maximum performance with high-impedance, over-ear headphones or low-impedance, in-ears at a flick of a switch.
  • A custom logarithmic Headphone Level volume knob also allows for precise control of the headphone output without big shifts in volume during small adjustments.
  • Choose between Mono or Stereo monitoring modes.
C.A.S.T. Breakout Box
  • The C.A.S.T. system uses the internal wirering of a shielded Cat 5e, Cat 6, or Cat 7 cable to distribute balanced analog audio around studios or stages up to 330'without high-end roll-off and with very low crosstalk.
  • C.A.S.T. reduces cable clutter in your work space, replacing the equivalent of four XLR cables with a single, affordable, and readily available network cable.
Phantom Power
  • The C.A.S.T. system is capable of transferring 48V phantom power from a preamp to the N22H for powering condenser microphones and DI boxes. One C.A.S.T. cable can easily transfer up to 4 separate phantom power lines in your studio or live space.
Powering Flexibility for Standalone and Location Use
  • N22H can be powered using the included 9 VDC power supply as well as any third-party 9 VDC (centre negative) guitar-pedal power supply.
  • It can also be powered using a 9V battery for up to 10 hours of headphone amplification in Low Power mode during tracking and location recording where power isnt available nearby.
