Cable Release Failed
This is the second one I have purchased in the last month, that has the exact same problem, right of the package. The plunger is in the release position and will not retract, making the entire unit worthless. It seems like the spring has been installed backwards. It was so cheap, I bought another one, hoping the second one would work. DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!
Cable release works great!
It's hard to find a good 12" cable release these days. This one works great..!
Thumb rest came off first outing
I had high hopes for this. First time out the thumb rest came unscrewed and was lost so for rest of trip I had to jab my thumb with the top of the cable. Once at home I was able to use a plastic thumb tack head as a replacement. Also the photo is deceiving, the lock is not the circular round item above the finger slots it is a screw on the side so requires two hands to actually lock it for long exposures. So will not be buying another one of these.
Works as needed
Simple cable release, works perfectly fine as advertised.

Fell apart after a day
Takes me back!
In these times of wireless remote releases, it's sometimes quicker just to use a good old cable release. This one works just fine, and is about the optimum length.
Worked just as good as the one I have that is 75 years old.
